There are provisions in Home Guards
& Civil Defence to confer honour to any staff member
or volunteer either individually or collectively in
recognition of conspicuous good work, work of outstanding
nature, gallantry, devotion to duty, etc. in various
forms as per following details:-
A. FOR HOME GUARDS & CIVIL DEFENCE

- Cash Awards:- Upto
Rs. 1000/- per head by DGCD of the Ministry
and upto Rs. 500 per head by DCDs & CGHGs
of the States/UTs.
- DGCD's Commendation
Certificate & Disc:- The recommendation
for these are to be initiated by an officer
not below the rank of District Commandant or
Controller of Civil Defence and are required
to be suitably endorsed by DCDs & CGHGs
of the State. No momentary grant is attached
to this certificate. The DGCD's Commendation
certificate and disc are meant for such good
work as done by the member of both the organisation
which deserves recognition, but does not warrant
award of medals. The Certificate is not awarded
posthumously. Suitable entries are made in Service
Book/Service Record of the awardees.
